An excited Mexican sangha greeted Lama Jampa, Benie and Katie at the Mexico City airport on May 28th. Eight wonderful days of teachings followed, starting with a Questions and Answers session and Green Tara initiation at Sakya Dolma Ling. Following this there were teachings on compassion and transcendental wisdom from The Eight Dreamlike Experiences by Jetsun Drakpa Gyaltsen and the Heart Sutra.
Later in the week Lama Jampa bestowed the Chenrezik Mahamudra initiation and the lung of Thangtong Gyalpo's sadhana for new comers who took refuge, thus enabling them to join the centre´s regular weekly practice. More than thirty sangha members were also able to attend private interviews with Lama Jampa.
The week long visit culminated with the initiation of Vajrapani Buttadhamara, textual transmission of the sadhana and the explanation (tri). In his last words to Sakya Dolma Ling, Lama Jampa encouraged the sangha to take a further step in consolidating the presence of the dharma in Mexico by acquiring a property for the centre. With the blessings of the teachers and dharma protectors the sangha in Mexico hope to achieve this aim within the next couple of years.
