Songs of Milarepa and Initiation of Green Tara

10.30 - 13.00: Songs of Milarepa

Eminent meditator and poet Milarepa was one of the five founding masters of the Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. He composed his beautiful songs around the turn of the 12th century and they have inspired and guided Buddhist practitioners ever since, remaining as relevant today as ever.

The songs express the way in which one follows the authentic spiritual path of compassion and meditation while realising that the state of awakening is already naturally present.

14.30 - 16.30: Initiation of Green Tara

The goddess Tara is revered in all traditions of Vajrayana Buddhism as the embodiment of the liberating activity of all buddhas. As such her initiation and meditation are especially effective means of awakening one’s innate capacity for enlightened compassion. This initiation combined with the reading transmission of the sadhana will mean that one can effectively practise Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo's famous sadhana 'The Condensed Essence Sadhana of Jetsun Drolma, Connected  with the Four Classes of Tantra'.
