It is my sad duty to convey the news of the passing of HH Sakya Dagchen Rinpoche, head of the Phuntsok Phodrang branch of the Sakya Tradition. His Holiness passed away on the evening of the 29th of April in Seattle. HH Sakya Trizin has requested that all Sakya followers make prayers for His swift rebirth .
HH Sakya Dakchen Rinpoche visited Sakya Thinley Rinchen Ling in 1980 on my invitation. During this time He bestowed teachings on the Four Seals and gave the initiations of Vajrakilaya and Vajrapani. I was fortunate also to receive some reading transmissions from Him in private.
