Clarifying the Dharma in the Dordogne

Lama Jampa returned to the beautiful valley of the Dordogne for a wonderful week of dharma teachings at Dhagpo Kagyu Ling at the end of July 2026.

An audience of over seventy people gathered to hear Lama Jampa’s explanation of the Lojong from the text ‘Dispelling the Darkness of Suffering’ composed by his own lama, Karma Thinley Rinpoche. This was followed by five days of teaching on Sakya Pandita’s seminal text ‘Discriminating the Three Vows.’ Lama Jampa continued the section on the Vajrayana, clarifying the many misunderstandings which existed in thirteenth century Tibet and which are manifest today, as the dharma continues its journey of settling in the West.

Sakya Pandita explains the great importance of applying logic and reasoning in our approach to dharma and validating this by consulting impeccable sources of sutra and tantra which come from the Buddha himself.

We all appreciated the precision and detail of Lama Jampa’s presentation of the text, enabling us to understand the importance of practicing the dharma correctly in order to maintain its purity and effectiveness.
