On Saturday September 10th over 150 people gathered to hear Lama Jampa Thaye teach from the Songs of Milarepa in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
With the Song of the Six Perfections Lama Jampa explained the Buddhist approach to the spiritual activities of giving, morality, patience, energy, meditation and wisdom. With the Song of the Middle Way he showed how to combine the indirect teachings for everyday life with the direct teachings describing the most profound view of reality.
Later in the day, Lama Jampa bestowed the initiation of Vajrakilaya from the line of Chogyur Dechen Lingpa, an empowerment at the Mahayoga level. Both Nyingma and Kagyu practitioners employ the Vajrakilaya practice against obstacles in this ‘Age of Quarrels’; and the merit was dedicated by the Lama for all those suffering from ill-health and other difficulties.
