Coronavirus: Message from Lama Jampa

Lama Jampa Thaye shares the following letter in relation to the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

March 14, 2020

This time of uncertainty and concern reminds us that the Three Jewels are the only sure refuge for this life and beyond. Furthermore, they remind us of our commitment to work for the liberation of all beings from suffering. In short, the present time of difficulty clarifies things for us immensely.

Each of us now should dig deep into the resources provided by our studies and practice. Through this we will experience the true basis of our confidence. It is really no other than the buddha-nature, which is beyond birth and death.

From this we can draw an inexhaustible patience, strength and compassion for this critical time. With such qualities we can make a great contribution to everyone with whom we share this precious world.

I would also like to urge all members of our dharma community to look after each other in these current difficulties and to support the vital services that our centres and groups provide, both now and for the future.

I take this opportunity to share Karma Thinley Rinpoche's blessings with you and his message:

'Be relaxed, happy, and without fear, remembering that everything is cause and effect'.

Finally, I pray that my lamas, H.H. Sakya Gongma Trichen, H.H. Karmapa and Karma Thinley Rinpoche, continue to keep us in their prayers.

With best wishes and blessings to each of you,
