Day of Teachings in Bristol

On Saturday June 6, students from across the country travelled to Bristol to receive teachings from Lama Jampa Thaye.

In the morning, as a companion teaching to the Virupa Lojong of January, Lama Jampa taught Chim Namkha Drak's Lojong in a Single Session, a very condensed presentation of the famous Seven Points of Mind Training.

In the afternoon, following this teaching from the general Mahayana relevant to both newcomers and more experienced practitioners, Lama Jampa bestowed the Vajrayana initiation of Simhanada, an aspect of Chenrezi from the Kriya Tantra. Many practitioners have relied on this particular form of Chenrezi for healing from various illnesses including skin disorders. In fact, the great Sakya Pandita cured the Mongol emperor, Goden Khan, of his illness through this deity.

On this occasion, the initiation was drawn from the Collection of Bari Lotsawa.

It was a wonderful occasion to hear the teachings, renew refuge and the bodhisattva vow and receive initiation.
