Lama Jampa Thaye has just completed a busy and inspiring 12-day teaching tour of California, bringing together students and sangha from across the state for teachings, practice, and Dharma activities.
The visit began with a weekend at Bodhi Path San Luis Obispo, where Lama Jampa taught the first part of the Third Karmapa Rangjung Dorje’s text Showing the Buddha Nature (Nyingpo Tenpa) using the commentary, Clarifying the Thought of Rangjung by Jamgon Kongtrul Lodro Thaye. Students deeply appreciated the opportunity to study this profound teaching in such a welcoming setting.

During the week, a special sangha question-and-answer session was held at Dechen LA and filmed for Lama Jampa’s YouTube channel, alongside a full day dedicated to filming new channel content.
On Saturday, May 16, Dechen LA hosted a wonderful day of teachings at a new venue. Lama Jampa gave teachings on the Heart Sutra and bestowed the initiation of the Seven Medicine Buddhas from the lineage of Shantarakshita and Atisha. The day was marked by a warm atmosphere and strong participation from attendees.
The visit concluded on Sunday, May 17, with the Tangtong Gyalpo Chenrezik Practice at the temple, bringing the California tour to a meaningful close.
