Visit of Lama Jampa Thaye to Sakya Dechen Ling Stuttgart. 20th - 22nd September 2024

On Saturday 14 September Dharma friends from across the United Kingdom and Europe gathered in Harrogate to receive the transmission of Phowa, the the final part of the Sky Dharma teachings of Mingyur Dorje.

The completion of the second week of teachings at Sakya Changlochen Ling was a momentous event, marking the first ever transmission in the West of both the blessing and detailed teachings of this extraordinary practice. 

Yesterday, Friday 23rd August, Lama Jampa completed transmitting the entire text entitled 'Dispelling the Darkness of Suffering' by Karma Thinley Rinpoche.

Over the weekend of 10th and 11th August, Lama Jampa completed his second summer teaching at Karmapa's European seat in the Dordogne, France. 

On Tuesday August 6, at the invitation of Lama Jampa Thaye, Dechen LA Sakya Buddhist Center, was blessed to welcome His Holiness Gongma Trichen Rinpoche, Her Eminence Gyalyum Chenmo and their entourage to Santa Monica.

Lama Jampa has just completed five days of teaching on Sakya Pandita’s ‘Discriminating the Three Vows’ at Dhagpo Kagyu Ling, His Holiness Karmapa’s European Seat in the Dordogne. 

From 17 until the 23 July, His Holiness the 17th Karmapa was in the north of England to give series of teachings at Lama Jampa’s Dechen Kagyu centres; Kagyu Dechen Dzong in Harrogate and Kagyu Ling in Manchester.

Last Saturday, 8 June, Lama Jampa resumed his teaching on Sakya Pandita’s ‘Discriminating the Three Vows’, continuing with the section on the vajrayana. Topics covered included the meaning and practice of mahamudra meditation, as outlined in the source texts, the tantras, and communicated through the teachings and songs of great masters. The text also emphasises the necessity of receiving vajrayana initiation, as through this, the appropriate connection is made with the relevant meditation deity and one has a basis for cultivating this through subsequent practice.

Lama Jampa Thaye has just completed his spring program of teachings at Sakya Buddhist Center Los Angeles. It was a busy and joyful visit, with a wonderful array of teachings, time with the sangha and planning for the future.

From 3 - 5 May, in amongst sunshine and showers, Lama Jampa Thaye visited Sakya Dechen Ling in Stuttgart to give a series of dharma teachings. Over the course of three days, around 40 people from Germany, France, Switzerland and the UK gathered to receive the next part of Sakya Pandita's 'Discriminating the Three Vows' and the rarely given initiation of Manjushri Lion's Speech.

Last weekend people from across the UK came to Harrogate for the visit of Lama Jampa Thaye and Dechen Dolma. The highlight of the weekend was the bestowal of the Amitabha Initiation (Buddha of Limitless Light) from the Sky Dharma lineage of Mingyur Dorje, on Saturday afternoon.

There could not have been a better surrounding for the presentation of the nine-centures-old text by Sonam Tsemo, The General Presentation of the Tantra Sets.

We are delighted to announce that at Lama Jampa’s invitation His Holiness the 17th Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje will be giving a series of teachings hosted by Dechen centres in Harrogate and Manchester from 18 - 22 July.

Last Saturday, 16 March, having returned from the Karmapa International Buddhist Institute in Delhi, Lama Jampa Thaye gave a day of extraordinary vajrayana teachings in London.

Last week Lama Jampa Thaye gave six days of teachings on Zhentong Madhyamaka as part of this year’s Karmapa Public Course at KIBI - Karmapa International Buddhist Institute.

Earlier this month Lama Jampa Thaye was in residence at the major Dechen centre of Kagyu Ling in Manchester where he bestowed a great number of teachings, transmissions and blessings.

On January the 26th at Bodhi Path Renchen-Ulm Lama Jampa continued teaching Karma Thinley Rinpoche's commentary on the third Karmapa's text, Discriminating Consciousness and Primordial Wisdom (Namshe Yeshe).

At the end of January, following his teaching of Discriminating Consciousness and Primordial Wisdom at the Bodhi Path centre in Renchen Ulm, Lama Jampa visited Sakya Dechen Ling in Stuttgart for a few days.

On 13 January Lama Jampa Thaye gave his first teachings of 2024 in Bristol, UK. The event was organised and hosted by the Dechen centre there, Sakya Thinley Rinchen Ling.
