A Complete Explanation of the Tantras at Dhagpo Kagyu Ling

This year Lama Jampa gave another five-day summer course at Dhakpo Kagyu Ling, France, and this time was able to complete his teaching on Sonam Tsemo's famous elucidation of the Tantra Sets.

It is rare that such texts are given, the subject matter being concerned with the secret teachings of the vajrayana, and the annuttara, or supreme tantra, in particular. Thus the last part of the main section was completed, explaining the origins of the vajrayana and in particular the role of Sakyamuni buddha as an emanation of the buddha Vairocana in disseminating the teachings, as well as the two final sections on the meaning of tantra and the method of expression in the tantras themselves.

As in previous years the teaching was attended by monastic sangha who had travelled from Kundreul Ling (Le Bost), students of Lama Jampa from UK and elsewhere, and many other lay practitioners living around Dhakpo or who had travelled from other parts of France to hear these precious teachings. At the end of the teaching the heartfelt words of Ani Kemtcho, a senior nun from Kundruel Ling, aptly summed up the deep gratitude of the students to Lama Jampa for bestowing this wonderful text with such erudition, humour, and clarity. Thanks also to Audrey who as always perfectly translated Lama-la's words into French.
